An update of our classic Fisherman sandal, the Angler has a new crosshatch design that is dressy enough to wear for big days and so comfy he's going to want to wear them every day! This sandal has plenty of traction and support for all his outdoor adventures.

The shoes at Striderite are awesome! I do, however, have a small complaint. I sent an order for sandals, and didn't realize you don't accept exchanges. Instead, I would have to order a new pair. Which is no problem, but I when I called customer service the next morning to add another sandal, I was told orders cannot be changed and I would have to order separately. That's ok, except I was trying to take advantage of the free shipping. My order ended up being free to ship because it was over $35, but the girl on the phone didn't make me aware of that. She just bluntly told me orders can't be changed. Thx, Sandy

This is a great sandal. My grandson has not complained once about them and he hates shoes! The only negative thing I would say is that the XW is more like a W.

My son's feet are XW bordering on XXW, so I went ahead and ordered half a size up so they wouldn't be too snug. I don't think I needed to. They fit perfectly with plenty of room all around.

Another year, another pair!

These are fabulous sandals! While they do run a little small, and narrower than what I would consider a 'M' width (order up), they are indestructible! We are buying another pair for this summer; the closed toe makes them great for daycare, and they can be worn with or without socks. Like another reviewer, this is a pair of shoes my son insists on wearing, even over his coveted light-up firetruck shoes.

I'm surprised that Stride Rite offers only 1 extra wide sandal. I got them for my son who has very wide/thick feet and he complained they were too tight. The SRT Holden was perfect but only goes up to 8.5. I thought this was what Stride Rite was all about, making shoes that fit right. Why isn't there an extra wide sandal that doesn't have a cage around the foot? These shoes are cute but if your son has really wide feet, they might not work.

Best Sandals

I have 2 boys 3 & 5 years old. I have been buying Stride Rite Sandals since they were newborns. For the past several years I have purchased this sandals. This year will be no different. Both boys beg to wear them on a daily basis so that says volumes as a parent that they must be comfortable. They've worn them every day while we were on vacation at Disney and not one ounce of complaining that their feet hurt. I absolutely LOVE these sandals and apparently my boys do too! One of the very few pairs of sandals that are closed toed which is very important to me. Can't wait to purchase another pair of these sandals for them this year!

My son has worn this sandal for the last three summers, and I'm about to order another two pairs for this summer. The price is great, so I buy one pair for everyday wear and another for church. They are durable, great looking, and easy for him to get on and off by himself.

I love these shoes. My son is 2 yrs 10 months and this is the third pair of these shoes I've bought for him! I love that he's been able to take these off and put on all by himself, they can be dressy or casual, and he is obviously comfortable in them running and playing, etc. I highly recommend!

Fantastic sandal

I purchased this sandal for my 1yo son last year, and again for this year. He has very wide feet and this worked perfectly. He also likes that they look just like daddy's sandals. They have a classic look and are very durable, as he works hard to destroy them. This year he was very pleased to have learned how to put the sandal on and off all by himself!

Great shoe; great price. We love these shoes because you can dress them up or down. They have a closed-toe and are safe for the playground and are dressy enough to wear to church in the summer. We'll buy them again next year!

My son enjoys wearing his sandals. Too bad they aren't allowed at his school though. I like that his toes are protected from bumps. I also like that the leather already has a somewhat distressed look, so the additional wear it takes on from a 3 1/2 year old goes unnoticed. Had the shoe been made with a smooth, dressier leather, it would be covered with scratches. The sole has lots of flexibility and good traction.

we love this shoe and end up wearing this style every year. it trumps all other choices (even a cute keen i tried to branch out to this year) in comfort and versatility...and breathability, i believe. it runs slightly small, and his fit are slightly wide, so we err up when selecting a size, but are always satisfied. wonderful shoe, we'll keep on wearing these!

We love these sandals for our 3yr old rough and tumble boy. He's starting to have opinions about what we put on him and he LOVES these sandals. He can put them on himself, they go with everything (play clothes to church clothes), and he can run in them forever without getting blisters.

For Girls Too!!

We tried on all sorts of this same style in the girls version of the shoe but these ones seem to fit my 2 year old the best. She got a pair when she was 1 so we decided to get them again. They are super comfy, fit great and the bottoms have the traction so she wears them to the park as well. I think it's safe to say that this awesome sandal can be for boys & girls!

We used the printable sizing chart and ordered size/width based on that. It was accurate, but they do fit a little more narrow than I expected even in the 'wide' width. My 3.5 yr old thinks they are comfortable and we like how easy he can put them on himself with the velcro - best kid sandal design decision ever!
