My guy has thick wide feet and these shoes are awesome for him. The tounge folds out way down to the ball of the foot, which makes it a breeze for putting them on. It also allows for a easier fit for those kids with the wide and thick feet. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants an easy fitting shoe. Another plus is that they look great with sweats or jeans. Great shoe!! :)

Great for thick chubby feet

My son has incredibly thick feet. at 14 months this is only his 2nd pair of shoes because I have had such a difficult time finding any that I can get on him. These are great for kids with thick feet because the tongue allows them to open completely leaving enough room to slide his foot in. By thick, I don't mean wide either, although he also has wide feet and these seem to fit him great (we ordered a baby 6W)....if you are having the same problem, I would recommend trying these!

perfect shoes to dress up or just to wear with jeans. They're perfect for my 20 month old who's a pro walker but still not ready for heavy bulky soals of other shoes out there. Love Stride Rite shoes!

I have had a very hard time finding shoes that fit my son's wide feet and high arches. These open wide and go on easily and he loves wearing them. They seem durable so far. The leather is very soft and flexible and he walks well in them. I'm planning to buy these again in the next size.

My one year old walks well in these shoes, and they are easy to put on. Other Pros: matches a variety of clothes, stays on, seem to be comfortable and durable so far. No complaints!

Great shoe and got it as part of the sale on "boots" although I really wouldn't call this a boot at all. Not the most amazing looking shoe, but fairly cute and super comfy and looks to be made of very high quality. Goes with most outfits so thats a plus too!

The stride rite shoes came very highly recommended to us. My son is only 7 months old and keeps pulling himself up to walk. We purchased this shoe to help prevent him from walking on the sides & top of his feet while he is trying to figure out how to get moving. He has a very wide and thick foot. This particular model was the only one that fit his feet properly. We were very pleased with our purchase, and plan to purchase all future shoes from stride rite.

Perfect Shoe for Wide Feet

I just bought this shoe for my 1 year old, who is currently not walking very well. This was the perfect shoe for his extra wide feet! His high step is very chunky and this shoe allows extra room and comfort for the high step, while not adding too much extra room within the toe area. Perfect fit! Additionally, it's stylish and the neutral brown goes with almost everything!

I purchased this shoe knowing that the size should fit my son (compared to other stride rite pre-walkers, I work in a Stride Rite retail store, so I have a pretty good notion of how the shoes run). I got them home and they were so narrow I couldn't even get them on his feet. I had other SR's in the same size that fit perfectly, but these were just ridiculously narrow in the toe box. My son does NOT have wide feet, so I thought it was really strange that they didn't fit. But, now that I think of it, they didn't sell very well at all, so I think SR just missed the mark with this style. They can't be perfect all of the time!

The Perfect Shoe for an Early Walker

My son loves these shoes. I love how easy they are to get on his wide feet. They are really easy to walk in--he just started walking, so he isn't too steady yet, but these shoes are almost as good as walking in bare feet. He will actually venture onto the grass in them, which is saying a lot! I love the size gauge inside the shoe so you know when he's outgrown them. I love the tab on the back that makes it so easy to get the shoes on. They look great, so I don't feel bad wearing them for everyday activities and doubling them for church on Sundays. We have these and the sandal version, and I love how versatile they both are. I love the color. I love the sole. I love the Velcro. I love the feel of the super-soft leather. And my son LOVES the feel of the sole (he actually love the sound it makes when he bites it and his teeth scrape the rubber).

Perfect for New Walker

The ankle height is perfect for those that crawl and walk. My son just started to walk and enjoy walking, and we put these on and he became accustomed to walking and crawling with these on within the 1st day. They are easy on and off. There is velcro on the tongue of the shoe so it stays in place. The soles are very flexible and light. These are versatile. So for the first and only pair of shoes, he could wear them for every occasion and just playing. I tried shoes from a lot of brands, and keep coming back to StrideRite. Especially for school uniform shoes. I have 5 kids and tried all sizes up to 12. I have handed down shoes through 4 girls and the they still look new and sturdy. The product is worth every penny, because of comfort and durability. Thanks!

Just purchased for my 1 year old who has been walking since 9 months. Perfect shoe that is comfortable and nice and flexible. He walks naturally in them and doesn't march in them like he does in the harder, toddler shoes.

Best firts pair of shoes for an early walker!

I got these shoes for my 1 year old who is an early walker. Since he started walking this was a perferct pair of shoes for him. Super cushy, very bendy, and soft sole; the leather is amazingly soft; and overall the shoes are very light. The moment I put it on my boy, he didn't try to take if off and seemed to walk with more confidence. I think these shoes provide support for early walkers that is just right. Super easy to put on - the velcro fastener is nice and wide. The shoe opens up where the foot just slides/steps in. The only thing I've noticed that after several hours of wearing these, his feet get very warm and sweaty (his socks a bit damp). I think it's due to the rubber sole and wearing shoes inside where it's warm (should have gotten sandals for wearing inside maybe). Because of this, I take the shoes off and let my toddler walk without shoes for a while. It's good for their feet to walk without shoes anyway. Overall, the best first pair of shoes!
