I bought these for my baby girl when she was 7 months old. She is almost 10 months old. I bought them a little big and they still fit well however, it is getting cooler and she needs a fall/winter shoe. She is able to stand pretty well in these...she hasn't started walking yet. Her ankle seemed to lean over in less expensive shoes. I plan on only buying from Stride Rite from now on.

Little One loves his first walking shoes

Our 10 month old is just beginning to walk. He has wide feet, we purchased the wide size, fit him perfectly. He LOVES to put them on, so they must be comfy for him to explore in. These are so much cuter in person than online. Pair well with every summer outfit he has too! We are so happy with them!! Thank you SR!!

Great Summer Shoe

I am a stride rite legacy. My mom put me in stride rite when I was a baby so it only made sense when I was looking to buy a good pair of walking shoes for my early walker (9 month old boy) that I would go to stride rite. I am very glad I did. I bought these shoes in the store. I got the brown color. The sales guy was so nice and helpful. I thought I wanted hard soles because my son is beginning to walk, but in reality I needed to get him soft bendable rubber sole shoes. These shoes are GREAT! He can stand on his tippy toes in them and actually walks better in these shoes than he does bare foot. The brown ones are perfect for summer and look great with play clothes and can be dressed up for nice wear too. Highly recommend.

My son is 17months and size 6. I love this shoe in the red/tan. Sooo cute and easy to get on and off with the velcro. Protects his little feet while he is constantly on the go. Must have it! Definitely a favorite. I was going to purchase in a larger size we love these so much, but size 6 is the largest size available.

My son loves these shoes. I love how easy they are to get on his wide feet. They are really easy to walk in--he just started walking, so he isn't too steady yet, but these shoes are almost as good as walking in bare feet. He will actually venture onto the grass in them, which is saying a lot! I love the size gauge inside the shoe so you know when he's outgrown them. I love the tab on the back that makes it so easy to get the shoes on. They look great, so I don't feel bad wearing them for everyday activities and doubling them for church on Sundays.

These are the first pair of real shoes we have bought for our son. They fit great (he's 4.5 W), are super flexible and he seems to like them just fine. He doesn't trip over them, or try to take them off. We love the style and the SRT Soft Motion bottoms are awesome - perfect for beginning walkers like our little guy. Will be looking to buy another pair in the fall. :)

I ordered this shoe due to wide width option but I felt the 2 straps that go across the front were to tight and therefore did not create the wide width necessary. I ended up ordering a different shoe (motion Dino) and there is only 1 strap, it was much easier to put foot inside for my sons wide foot.

This is a perfect shoe for my grandson to wear at daycare. It keeps his feet cool while on the playground and the removable liner makes it easy to clean out all the sand. He is learning to walk-- the fit is perfect and the sole is soft so his feet feel the ground beneath him and allows him to move his little feet and toes to support proper development of his walking skills.

My complaint about this shoe is simply that I dislike the style and all of the Stage 2 shoes. Maybe I need to get used to it, but the styles for boy shoes were just not on par.
This shoe's functionality, however, is fabulous. My son has gone from cruising to taking a few steps since we've put this shoe on him. He doesn't try to pull it off like he does with other shoes. He even seems to like looking at them... which probably means I'm in trouble!
For functionality, five stars. For style, minus one star. Four stars.

If I could, I would remove just a 1/2 star for the fact that the shoe liner slips around inside the shoe when my son wears them without socks. I usually have to reposition them before I put them on him. But they are comfortable, fit great, protect his feet and are super easy to put on and take off. My 13 month old son has only been walking for one month, but he can already run in these shoes. Plus, the sizing guide printed on the liner is pure genius and extremely helpful to know when to move up in size.

I am a first time mom buying for my 11 month old son. My mom used to take my brother and I to Stride Rite as kids, so it was nice to have a strong name backing up my purchase.
I love these sandals because they are perfect for the summer in the midwest: either no socks with the heat, or with socks for cooler days.
The insoles come out once in awhile, but I also like the measurement tool on them so I don't have to guess when my son's shoes are getting too tight. My son has a high instep/chunky feet, so the "wide" size was nice to have offered. Most kid shoes are regular width.
My son keeps taking the velcro straps off, which can be frustrating. I think that putting velcro on the middle-T strap might help a bit. Put I knew that may be an issue buying the shoes. They are worth it though.

when the sales associate put these shoes on my grandson he just sprung into action. At 7 months he is really trying to walk. It was amazing to see. THANK YOU StrideRite for staying strong in this economy. My daughter wore your shoes as a young child and now my grandchild is in StrideRite comfort.

Great prewalker

We purchased this shoe for our 9 month old when we were vacationing. He's now 11 months and starting to take his first steps - its a great prewalking shoe and is incredibly flexible. I also appreciate the covered toes so when he crawls he's not scraping the tops of his feet/toes.
I haven't had any issues at all with the liner coming out. We put these on and take them off a number of times each day and I've never had a liner come out or bunch up, I'm happy with them.
Just wish the velcro would also stick to the centre leather band. My little guy sees that spot where it doesn't stick in the middle and uses his finger to get in there and pull the velcro off and take the shoe off in the car. If It was a full strip of velcro he'd probably have a harder time getting the shoes off. But we call him Houdini so it's not just the shoe, he gets out of everything and anything.
Overall very happy with purchase and would recommend to a friend.

This shoe is adorable, and I really like when the toes are covered on sandals to prevent scrapes and falls. We purchased these shoes along with sneakers on the same trip to Stride Rite, however I was very disappointed in how this shoe fit my son. The length fit fine. The width from side to side was also fine. Unfortunately. the height of the shoe is way to small. The first time my son wore the shoes, they left horrible marks on the top of his feet He was so uncomfortable, we had to take the shoes off on in the middle of the outing and he never wore them again. We have never had this problem with shoes before.

I loved this shoe it was perfect in almost everyway. The one issue with the shoe is that the inside sole comes out everytime you take off the shoe. It is not attached to the shoe. Eventhough I love this shoe in everyother way, I will keep looking for a similar shoe that does not have this design defect. For this reason alone, I must give this shoe a poor rating. It is like having a beautiful pool with a hole in it.

Good Shoe, but the liner doesn't stay put

I really like this shoe because it's nice and soft and looks very comfortable, but the liner doesn't stay in place so every time I take the shoe off my son it comes out or gets folded up. Plus it moves while he's wearing it as well. I can see it moving up the side of the shoe through the holes in the sides of the shoe. If it didn't have the migrating liner problem, I would have given this shoe 5 stars.
