Perfect for boys with wide feet

My 9-year-old son needed black shoes for his band concerts. His feet are very wide, and we have great difficulty finding shoes that fit properly. These are perfect. Not only are they wide, they're made of high-quality leather that is comfortable and smart-looking. So relieved that there are still shoe-makers out there not using cardboard and plastic! Thank you, Stride Rite.

Looks great... back of ankle area hurts.

This shoe looks wonderful, nice quality, the price seemed reasonable. My son said it fits fine everywhere except the back of his ankle, where the top of the heel of the shoe seems to be "biting" into his ankle. He is fairly sensitive about shoe fit and usually wears sneakers, but he seems unable to walk in these without saying "ow." We will be ordering others in the hopes they are more comfortable to wear in a wedding. I would suggest that Stride Rite add more padding in the back of the ankle area to make it more rounded, so it doesn't hurt sensitive little kids -- like the way sneakers fit.

Last year, I tried another retailer to "save money." What a fiasco! The shoes were not flexible, had no heal padding, and my boys refused to wear them because they hurt. Another pair of sneakers from another retailer fell apart in less than a month. Never again!!!!
Stride- Rite's shoes are worth it!! They are build to last my rugged, rough boys, the shoes are comfortable and flexible and my boys are happy to wear them. Stride-Rite stands by their product, shipped quickly, and aimed to please the customer! This is my first time shopping online as I usually shop at their stores. What a pleasant experience and convenient. Thank you, Stride-Rite! I'll stay as I have for over 10 years now.

Very happy with shoe! Fit's true to size (width). I've been buying my 10yr old dress shoes from Stride Rite since he could wear shoes and they've never disappointed. The padded collar is a plus since my son does do some walking in this shoes and they are pretty comfortable. Wish they had them in brown. Would definitely buy again!

Great quality, worth the price

I bought the same pair for my 3 y.o. and my 4.5 y.o. They both love them. It's super comfortable. I replaced the laces with black elastic bands so it's easier for them to put them on. They go to school wearing those shoes every day and I'm surprised how great they still look after one month. Generally after 2 days the leather is ripped (I've boys!) but with the Jefferson Stride Rite, they look as good as new. Definitely recommend this product, especially if you are like me and prefer to stay away from sport shoes all day. (sorry I'm old fashion)

Great Shoe for school

Bought these dress shoes for my grandson for school. He has to wear black dress shoes. Bought these last year and they can take a beating and still look great! He could probably wear them again except he broke the back support because, as boys do, they don't like to untie so they just try to shove their foot in from the back. But bought another pair again this year as their feet are always growing. Will be said when he out grows Stride Rite shoes!
