On our third pair...

My son absolutely loves these shoes. However, we are on our third pair in 8 months. Pair 1 stopped lighting up on one shoe within 2 weeks. The shoes were replaced free (great customer service!). However, pair 2 came with a defect on one shoe. I was immediately sent a new pair and told to keep the defectivie ones (again - great service!). Pair 3 were worn for several months when there was a blow out in the toe exposing his socks. I had the defective pair 2 repaired and he started wearing them onlyt to blow out another toe. Fortunately the blowouts were on different shoes and we still have a good pair with one shoe from pair 2 and and from 3.

First I will say my toddler LOVES these shoes. He runs up to other kids on the playground and points at the lights while stomping his feet! I took into consideration the other reviews that stated the shoes were narrow, and I ordered the wide size (my son wears medium width in all other stride rite shoes with no problem). He doesn't seem uncomfortable in them, but putting them on is a pain because they are so narrow. One of the center elastic strips has ripped already (either from putting them on, or just him running around in them) and they are only 2 weeks old. Its a little aggravating to pay so much for shoes and have the elastic pieces break already! I'm torn on whether I would recommend these or not. My son loves them, but I hate spending money on shoes that do not seem durable...time will tell!

Everywhere we go people compliment on his cool light up spiderman shoes! The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because even buying the wide size, it's still very narrow.
