Good but strap issue

We have purchased this shoe in at least 3 different sizes because my son loves them. But I noticed the straps are really short on the wide widths. He is wearing the XW and that seems to help. Great shoe, but Stride Rite needs to improve the strap length.

I purchased these for my 4 year old son. We have been buying Stride Rite for a few years. They were recommended by his foot doctor because he has inserts he has to wear all the time. These shoes have so much flexability, they are perfect for him. I would recommend any Stride Rite shoe, as we have had no issues with any kind.

Good shoes overall

These shoes are good overall. I read the reviews on these and the other colors before buying them, and knew the velcro straps wouldn't reach all the way. On my son's nearly XXW feet, the straps barely go halfway across the top of the shoe. But, knowing that was likely to happen before I purchased them, I wasn't disappointed when I tried them on my son. He needed new shoes desperately, and I insist on velcro for my toddlers! The navy color is a lot darker than I expected, much closer to black. We're not disappointed, but it was something that surprised me when I took them out of the box.

This shoe is mostly a vented mesh, which makes it a good, lightweight shoe for mild weather or indoor use. For wet and/or cold weather, you may want to choose another option.

I bought these for my son, who has very wide feet. I got the XW size, and am disappointed. The velcro patch could be twice as large as it is. The velcro patch doesn't span the entire length of the strap. I predict that it will get full of hair and other stuff very soon and will cease to stay shut. The shoemakers could have very easily doubled the size of the velcro patch, ensuring that these shoes would continue to velcro close for months.

I went to the Stride Rite store with my toddler and purchased these. He has an Extra Wide foot, so the styles are limited. This style is actually good and has nice navy/green colors. Being his foot it XW, the velcro does not go all the way across. It comes up just a little short, but still works. They seem to be comfortable for him, so I would recommend them for comfort and style. I gave 4 out of 5 stars because of the velcro not going completely across his foot. It must just be this style because other styles managed to fit good with the velcro closure.

I purchased these for my 3-year old son and he absolutely loves them! He always asks what the "name" of everything is and I told him they were called "Dallas." We live in Dallas so he really loved that. He specifically asks for his "Dallas" shoes when getting ready to go to school. The style is cute, the leather and soles are substantial so they won't fall apart easily. I've already scrubbed mud off of them and they come out just fine. They are nice and wide so it's easy for his foot to slide in. They are a perfect fit!

My son has a wide foot. Even though this shoe comes in wide, it is not wide enough. The velcro straps do not go all the way over and and his ankles push the top of the shoe out.

I purchased a similar pair for my son last year, and they lasted him through the entire year of preschool.
We liked them so much we got this pair for this year, and they have been super comfortable for him, easy to for him to put on, and they go with most of his clothes.
