Great Purchase

My son has wide feet, and wears shoe inserts. These shoes fit his feet and the inserts, and are comfortable on him. It is very difficult to find wide width shoes, in half sizes, but these fit the bill for both. He has worn these shoes for several years, and I will continue to purchase them as long as they make them.

GREAT shoe!

My son has an overall narrow foot, but a wide toe box area, so finding shoes that don't pinch his toes is always a challenge. This shoe is perfect for this issue, though! Beyond that, it is easy for him to get off and on his foot on his own, which is always a plus. The mesh makes this a nice, breathable shoe for warmer weather, and they aren't too heavy.
My only issue is that the tongue tends to slip down in the shoe as he's wearing them, but it doesn't seem to bother him. I've noticed this is an issue with a lot of Stride Rite shoes - maybe this is a design issue that needs to be addressed?

Works formy son

I was a little hesitant to buy this shoe at first because my son has wide feet and I was not sure if it would be wide enough. When I looked from the bottom of the shoe it looked a little more narrow than I expected, but when my son tried it on, he said it fits great, and he would definitely tell me if he did not. My reassurance came when he did not get blisters in the inside of his foot, as he has in the past with shoes that were too narrow. I think the inside of the shoe is designed to allow for flexibility and comfort for the arch of the foot more than space. It works for my son. I would buy it again.

Good for wide foot, narrow heel

This is a flexible, breatheable, good-looking shoe. Most importantly, it fit my son's foot, which is wide with a high instep, but narrow heel. We bought the wide. It fit him better than the Austin Hook and Loop in wide.

This is WIDE?

What age(s) are your children? 9, 10+
I have purchased this shoe three times (in three progressively larger sizes) in attempts to get a stable, wide shoe for my son with Down syndrome. It has been the best I can fine, but honestly, THIS is WIDE?
If this is a WIDE shoe, then let's make it wider! Give it a wider tongue AND let's have generous velcro straps, so that there's more than 1/4 - 1/2" of the velcro strap overlapping the velcro on the shoe.
Redesign so that the velcro is reversed ... hooks on the strap, loops on the shoe. That way, if you don't overlap all the way, it's the loops that are exposed. Loops won't catch on mommy's pantyhose like exposed hooks will.
The straps should be longer, and the loop portion of the velcro closure should cover more length of the strap, allowing for more adjustment in size.
Make this an excellent shoe rather than something we just tolerate because we can't find anything better.
