SRT's are the best!!

My grandson is 21 months old and runs around all day. I could tell from how he was walking that the last shoes he had (non-Stride-Rite) were not doing him any favors so I ordered him up a new pair of SRT's. He loves the comfort and support these shoes give him. Even though it is customary in his own home to remove shoes when entering, he does not want these shoes off his feet. A bath is about the only thing that can tempt those shoes off!! We regularly take him on 1-2 mile hikes and with these we never have to carry him because his feet do not hurt and in fact these shoes keep him energized.

I purchased these shoes for my son as his second pair of Stride Rite shoes. I am a big fan of the Soft Motion line, so I stuck with it, but this time got a more "sneaker" like shoe. I wish that they came in a more narrow shoe width, because my son has longer, thinner feet. But either way, he loves them. I will agree with the previous reviewer that the area of velcro designed for attachment is smaller than desired, and he is frequently performing movements that cause it to become unbuckled. The elastic that crossed the top of the foot keeps the shoe on, thus the velcro is more for decoration than function. Either way, I will buy his next shoes from the Soft Motion line, but maybe try another style again.

This shoe has helped stabilize my son so he can walk better. I was worried the shoe would be too narrow, but it was perfect!

Got these shoes for my little guy a month ago. So far so good. He has wide feet, and I got the wide size. They are perfect, and cute and sporty.

elastic broke in less than a month

my son wore these for less than a month, they were even still a little big on him (we bought the wide width because he wears a little insole on one foot because his foot rolls in). the orange elastic broke on the foot that doesn't have the insole, and he doesn't even wear them every day. he's only 14 months old, so there's no way he can be doing anything more than what is considered "normal wear and tear". i'm pretty disappointed, I always thought Stride Rite shoes were the highest quality out there.

short velcro area

I got these for my grandson today. He wore them out of the store. Before we even left the mall the Velcro was popping. The top strap was to short for his fat foot and the Velcro area is just a small patch and popped right opened. All he did is flex his ankle to make this happen.
We returned to the store and exchanged them for a style with a higher top. These styles seem to have more heavy duty Velcro than the low top styles.
I put that I do recommend these. They just didn't work for my fat footed grandson. They looked so cute on him. We ended up with soft motion Freddie and julien.
