Nice shoe but not for children in braces

I love the shoe, but its definitely not wide enough as I had hoped for my 4 year old son who was born with club feet and has to wear braces..... there is no where I have found where I can buy anything wider than XW, very disappointing..... they will work for now but he's in school and I'm frustrated with having to pay $50-90 dollars every couple of months that don't fit well to my satisfaction! I want to add though for anybody with just a wide width footed child these would be excellent along with all other stride rite products, just not for my son with his medical issues.

Does not last...

The velcro started wearing away and broke off from the shoe within 1 month of purchase and wear. The soles are also already deteriorating. The lights also did not seem to light up very easily when my son stomped his feet. I really Stride Rite, but I would not recommend purchasing this product until the quality improves. He does not wear these every day, nor all day and he has not subjected this to any extreme conditions, nor even in a puddle.

THOUGHT I HAD A WINNER

ALL THE REVIEWS I'VE READ ABOUT THIS SHOE RAVE ABOUT HOW IT FITS A CHILD WITH WIDE FEET PERFECT. ALTHOUGH A LOVER OF STRIDE RITE SHOES MY 3 YEAR OLD SON DOESN'T HAVE A WIDE FOOT. THE 1ST PAIR I ORDERED WERE TOO SMALL. HIS TOES WERE AT THE FRONT OF THE SHOES WITH NO ROOM TO SPARE. I SENT THEM BACK AND ORDERED A HALF SIZE BIGGER. WELL, THE FIT WAS PERFECT EXCEPT IT WAS TOO WIDE. I ORDERED THE 10M AND FOR SOME REASON THIS SHOE WAS TOO WIDE FOR HIS LITTLE FOOT. HE LOVES LIGHT UP SHOES AND WHEN I HAD HIM TRY THEM ON HE SAID, "MOMMY, I DON'T LIKE THESE SHOES." BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD.

Velcro stopped sticking

PostedFebruary 28, 2013

Our son loves this shoe, but two months into wearing them the left top Velcro just stopped... working. I cleaned the bottom portion thinking it was full of playground gunk, but the issue is with the top soft portion.
I'm quite disappointed that this shoe would display such low quality, not only for a Stride Rite brand, but also because this is one of their more expensive shoes.

Stylish and COmfortable

I recently purchased these sneakers online for my son, who is 1 1/2. He immediately loved them because of the flashing blue lights. They went on his feet with ease and he has had no problems with the size and fit. When on his feet, he loves to see the lights flash, and he showed them off to his brother and sister. The velcro straps work well, although at times I feel they could be made just a bit longer, they seem to just fit. I was concerned initially about the comfort of the shoe because it seemed to made of a harder, not-as-flexible material. There was no dicomfort noted however, no red marks on the feet or any other signs that the shoe was rubbing anywhere. This shoe appears to actually be rugged and durable, yet comfortable.

Thought I would never find shoes for my little chubby footed grandson. Ordered the Extra Wide and it fits great! He likes the lights too!

OK to start with, but....

after a couple of months, the sole of the shoe has started to separate from the toe of the shoe. For what I paid for this shoe, I'd expect the shoes to last much longer. My child has worn only Stride Rite shoes, and I've never expierenced this.

Great Style

My son is an extra-wide, so there isn't much variety, especially when it comes to style. These shoes are great! Come in his size and looks like the other shoes that his friend's wear.

I purchased these for my 2 year old and he loves them. I purchased them online, so when they came in the mail he was ready to put them right on. He loved the lights on them and was walking around looking down at the bright lights! I must say, the lights are quite bright. I ordered them a half size bigger than his foot measured (I went to a Stride Rite store prior to my order to get his true size). They fit great and are quite flexible. As always, I love Stride Rite!

Really "cool" shoe

PostedSeptember 27, 2012

I bought this shoe for my grandson who wanted a shoe with lights.. They are true to size, well constructed and the lights on the sole are really neat, especially for a 4 year old. He thought that they were "really cool".
