The size fits a bit smaller. This worked in my daughter's favor as I was thinking that I should have ordered the 8, not the 8.5. There is still room for her to feet to grow into the shoe. She loves them!

This shoe is adorable and the light up is great. However it is not very foot friendly. I bought this a 1/2 size up and wide and its still not user friendly putting it on her foot. Its very boot like and you have to force it on.

When I saw these online I knew my daughter had to have a pair. When I received them I fell even more in love with them. StrideRite shoes are the only ones I would buy over the internet sight unseen because I have a great deal of faith in their product, but they exceeded themselves with these shoes. My daughter hardly wants to take them off! I was afraid the gems might fall off, but thought they were cute enough even without them, however the gems have stayed on through some pretty heavy activity already (my daughter has worn them almost every day for over two weeks now including at the beach and "hiking") without loosening at all. I highly recommend these!
