Perfect for summer

My daughter loves "fancy" sandals but is very active, so I was looking for something durable but still "fancy" enough in her eyes. These sandals have been perfect--they're lightweight and breathable, and sturdy enough to protect her feet and hold up well on the playground. Having two Velcro straps also makes these easy to get on and off, which is a big help since she insists on doing it herself.

I loved how these shoes looked, and that they have a closed toe and heel but plenty of ventilation for summer. The construction seems really durable. My only problem with the shoe is that the tongue is very rigid, and pokes into my daughter's ankle. It sticks out quite a bit, and i have no idea how anyone could wear these without it causing a problem. I let her wear them around the house, and the tongue left a deep groove in her ankle after about 30 minutes. The mark lasted several hours. I bought them for my 4 year old and my 1 year old, and had the same problem on both. The tongues just comes up way too high on the ankle and protrudes too far. Loosening the strap, per Stride Rite's suggestion, did nothing.
